What support will be offered by my tutor?

Your assigned tutor will help you with the course work, provide feedback on the module assessments if requested, and offer guidance and support.

The main mode of support provided by your tutor is regular online tutorials. These tutorials are supported by means of a virtual classroom (part of the MLS) and you will be advised of the tutorial dates, by your tutor, soon after the programme commences.

How will I contact my tutor?

You can contact your tutor by e-mail, and if required set aside a time for a telephone conversation.

Our tutors are training specialists, who will also be involved in Instructor Led Training for many of the world’s telecommunication operators, vendors, and service providers in many different parts of the world.

Although this keeps them at the forefront of technology and training practice, it means they will not be available by telephone at all times. However, e-mail correspondence will be answered at the earliest opportunity (whether in response to a question, or to set aside a time for a telephone conversation).

Do I get to meet my tutor?

By attending the online tutorials you will have regular contact with your tutor. It is possible to schedule additional tutorials and one-to-one sessions to help you with your studies.

These sessions allow participants to resolve difficult areas of study, ask further questions, meet their tutors and fellow students, and also receive extra tutor support as required.

For how long will I receive the tutor support?

You will receive support for as long as you are engaged on the programme. Whatever module you are studying, your tutor will be happy to help (even if you are slightly ahead or behind the nominal programme dates). Your tutor will also support you during your study period if you need to re-take an examination.

What other staff support will I receive?

Our administration staff are always pleased to offer help with the administration of the programme, and will pass on urgent requests to the training staff as required. Examination changes, problems with course materials and access to resources, as well as general requests can all be directed to our administration staff.

What other resources are made available?

You can also opt to receive our daily e-mail alert, tracking the daily telecommunications industry news and a weekly roundup of industry news. Details of how to register for these services will be provided in a welcome email when the programme commences. This is a free service, and you are welcome to continue this service once you have completed the programme.

You will also be sent a copy of an Informa Telecoms & Media Group annual report the Telecommunications Industry Outlook. This report is packed with trends and forecasts looking at the global telecommunications industry. It is an extremely worthwhile additional reference resource, (an electronic copy of this report will also be available via the MLS).

Additional resources (in addition to that contained in your standard courseware, and stated above) will be made available at the discretion of your Course Director in order to help you with your studies, or for general information.
